Preparing a first export shipment from Nigeria
A first export shipment has three layers of preparation: the exporter, the paperwork and the freight.
The exporter. Register your business and check the exporter requirements that apply to your product, including any quality certification your destination market asks for.
The paperwork. Prepare your commercial invoice, packing list and the export documentation your bank and the relevant authorities require. Confirm the details with your bank early, since they handle part of the process.
The freight. Choose your shipping route and incoterms, insure the cargo and agree the handover points with your buyer.
Requirements change by product and destination, so confirm current rules with the relevant authorities before you ship. Our team can coordinate the process end to end.
